Embracing Life Lessons
The end of a matter is better than its beginning…
Ecclesiastes 7:8 (NIV)
Embracing Life Lessons
Most recently, my social media accounts were hacked and I had the challenge of recovering my accounts. If you have had the same experience, you can identify with the challenges. While I was locked out of my accounts for almost two weeks, I learned a few lessons. Let’s refer to them as security lessons.
Lesson 1: Always safeguard your password.
Lesson 2: Always be cautious of unsolicited messages from individuals.
Lesson 3: Always think twice about clicking on unfamiliar links.
In addition to the security lessons, I learned some valuable life lessons.
Lesson 1: Always listen to that still small voice. Some people refer to it as instinct, conscience, or a feeling. I acknowledge it as the Spirit of God who leads and guides us in all decisions.
Lesson 2: Always focus on priorities. Sure, I wanted to recover my social media accounts and maintain connections with followers, especially the community of authors. However, the time away from social media was healthy. I was unaware of how much time I allotted to social media. Now, I have balance.
Lesson 3: Always keep the faith in God. Although my accounts were compromised, they were eventually recovered. I was reminded that I am an overcomer regardless of the circumstances.
I would not have learned these life lessons unless I was faced with opposition.
So, in everything, I give thanks (cf. I Thessalonians 5:18).
